Deidra Hodges received B.S. degrees in both Physics and Electrical Engineering in a Dual Degree program between Dillard University and Columbia University. She also received a M.S. in E.E. degree from Columbia University, and a Ph.D. in E.E. from the University of South Florida.

Hodges is the ECE Department Chair and an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. She is also an Editor of Elsevier’s Materials Science in Semiconducting Processing (MSSP). Hodges is both a user and a visiting faculty at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL). She serves as the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society advisor. Professional society membership includes: Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineer (IEEE), Institute of Nuclear Materials Management (INMM), Electron Device Society (EDS), Materials Research Society (MRS) and American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE).

Hodges is an exceptional leader in Photovoltaics (PV) and Solar Energy research with extensive experience in PV and radiation detection devices. She is highly focused in advancing Renewable Energy, Sustainability, Nuclear Materials and Extreme Photon Sensing. Hodges is highly skilled in diverse and interdisciplinary collaborations. She innovates to enable and advance technologies toward sustainability.
