About Jirs Meuris
Jirs Meuris is the John and Anne Oros Term Professor and an Associate Professor of Management and Human Resources at the Wisconsin School of Business. He currently serves as the WSB faculty director for leadership skills and mindset responsible for designing leadership development across programs in the school.
His research focuses on the consequences of improving the workplace experience for organizations and society. This work has been published in top journals such as the Academy of Management Annals, American Sociological Review, Industrial and Labor Relations Review, Journal of Management, Organization Science, and Research in Organizational Behavior. He has been featured in media outlets including The Atlantic, Harvard Business Review, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, and Bloomberg. He has also appeared on various radio and television programs such as NPR’s Marketplace, Wisconsin Public Radio, NBC News, and WTV Live at Four.
Jirs teaches the popular MBA course Leading Change in Organizations and is a regular speaker on leadership and management. He received his PhD in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management from the University of Pittsburgh. He also holds a MPS in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and a BA in Criminology from the University of Maryland, College Park.
