About Margarita Blandón Salazar

Margarita Blandon is a Ph.D. student in Electrical Engineering at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez, specializing in microwave and antenna design. Her research focuses on broadband phased array antennas, mutual coupling mitigation, and the integration of solar technology into communication systems. She collaborates with the NSF SpectrumX Center through the Flagship Project 1, where she works on direction-finding systems and spectrum management to enhance the performance and sustainability of modern wireless technologies. Her experience includes the design, simulation, and optimization of wideband antenna arrays using HFSS and other electromagnetic modeling tools. Within SpectrumX, she also contributes to interdisciplinary research efforts that promote innovation in spectrum sharing and signal detection.
