About Sebastian Pirela

Sebastian Pirela is an undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at Purdue University, where he is a member of the John Martinson Honors College. His academic journey is supported by the Posse Foundation Leadership Scholarship and the Purdue Gilbert J. Easley Scholarship in Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Pirela has cultivated a strong interest in RF systems and antenna design through his involvement with the Purdue Microwave Theory and Technology Society, where he leads the antenna team. His research experience includes a summer project with NSF SpectrumX, where he analyzed Ultra-Wideband (UWB) signals and presented his findings on their role in spectrum management. Pirela is currently assisting with research on plasma antenna technology, focusing on RF circuit simulation. Pirela is skilled in using various engineering software tools, including CST Studio Suite, ADS, HFSS, and MATLAB.
