Abstract
The University of Colorado Boulder is pursuing research in the development of a digitally steered, adaptive beamforming demonstrator for use in spatial filtering through the National Science Foundation SpectrumX program. The demonstrator will use the Analog Devices Quad MxFE 16 Rx/Tx data converter with up to 4 GHz of instantaneous bandwidth. The demonstrator transmit and receive antennas will be designed as 8×2 arrays and operate in a frequency range of 7-8.4 GHz. This work details the development of up- and down-conversion circuits for use between the antenna arrays and the MxFE data converter.
